| An old woman living in a suburb of Istanbul requested to see the sultan and she asked permission. She was accepted and she entered the Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent’s presence. She said that, her house was robed and the sultan was responsible from this robbery. Suleyman asked her very harshly; “Look at me woman, why did you sleep so deeply that you did not hear the thieves”. The old woman said; “Your majesty, excuse me, we thought that you were awake; that is the reason we slept so deeply in the nights. As the sultan heard this he answered shamefully: “You are right” and he compensated her losses. | ||
