Ulubatli Hasan was the first Turk soldier climbed to the ramparts of Istanbul during the city’s conquest. The Ottoman Army under command of Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror besieged Istanbul on 6^th April 1453. The last attack took place in the morning of 29^th May 1453. Ulubatli Hasan a huge yeniceri started to climb the ramparts with his scimitar and shield. 30 yeniceris climbed to the ramparts with him. Although Ulubatli Hasan injured he helped the others to climb. He fell down from the rampart when his foot bantered to a stone. He died by the arrows thrown from the ramparts. But his friends entered the city from the holes on the ramparts.
