In 1914, Russia occupied Galicia (North-eastern Hungary). Ally forces with the support of Germany had defeated Russia and took back Galicia. But in July 1917, the Russians attacked Galicia again. The Russian forces advanced very fast in the first ten days but they withdrew on the 11th day.
