Artillery corps was a part of the Kapikulu Corps. This corps using and producing the cannons of the Ottoman Empire.

In the Ottoman history the first cannon was produced by Murad I at the First Cosova War. Under Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror’s command the artillery troops had improved. After the 17^th century, European artillery had developed rapidly and the Ottomans failed to reach these developments. Mustafa III had realised the decline in the artillery troops and in 1774 he organised the Speed Artillery Corps with a firman. This corps was divided in 37 units.
